What data do you collect about me when I order?

When you place an order with Lottieknits we only collect the data needed to process and ship your order or to contact you in the event of any problems. If you create an account, your information is stored on Squarespace and can only be accessed by you when you log in to your account, or by Lottie to process and ship your order or to contact you in the event of any problems.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored either on our order system (Squarespace) or if you placed your order on Etsy your data is stored on Etsy.  

How is my data kept safe?

Your data is password protected can only be accessed by Lottie. https://lottieknits.com is a secure domain with an SSL certificate. Lottieknits is registered with the ICO (information Comissioner’s Office.

Why is my data needed?

Your data is needed in order to process and fulfil your order, to contact you in the event of any problems with your order and to process any returned orders.  Your data will not be passed to any third party and is not used for any other purpose, but by law, we must retain a record of your order for tax purposes.  

What if I sign up for your newsletter?

Your name and email address will be used to send you updates about new yarns, patterns, products or upcoming shop updates, discounts, sales, new blog posts, news or yarn festivals where we are exhibiting.  It will not be passed to any third party and again your data is password protected can only be accessed by Lottie. 

What if I want to unsubscribe?

If you would like your information to be removed from the newsletter list please either click ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of any Lottieknits email or contact us via this form. Your information will be removed from the mailing list within 48 hours. 

What if something goes wrong?

In the event of any breach of data, anyone affected will be informed as soon as possible. 

I have a data complaint, who do I contact?

In the first instance, please fill out our data complaints form. We will acknowledge your data complaint within 30 days.

What is your data complaints process?

Lottieknits is committed to handling your personal information responsibly. If you believe we haven't done so, you have the right to make a data protection complaint directly to us.

How to complain

You can contact us by filling in our data complaints form. You're welcome to use any method that suits you, including social media — though we'd ask you to follow up with an email so we can respond securely.

What happens next

We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it. We'll then investigate as quickly as possible, keeping you updated on progress. Once we've looked into it, we'll let you know the outcome and explain our reasoning.
